On this page you’ll find our Game Grades Report© of Middle Earth: Shadow of War
Middle Earth: Shadow of War is a truly great game, but it lacks the innovation of its predecessor.
With thoughtful additions to all of the game’s feats, this game is a refined version of the first instalment. However, we had more fun playing Shadow of Mordor. Our team put countless hours into that groundbreaking game, and can’t help but feel that this game lacks the same cutting-edge charm. Shadow of War also borrows a few features from recent releases which makes the game feel dated at times. Perhaps this game was released a bit early and the studio should have kept us waiting for them to break new ground with a second instalment. Shadow of War is still a must-play for anyone that enjoyed Shadow of Mordor, even though it didn’t keep us playing quite as long.
